The square was built between 1920 and 1930 while the Tower was built in the early 1900s. It is the smallest tower with New-Gothic windows and a Neo-Medieval structure. At the beginning of the century it was used as a meteorological station and then as a café. After a long search for purpose, it is now fully integrated in the modern urban life as a place of gathering and an entertainment venue. It has been refurbished with care and respect, to remove the wear and tear of abandonment. This new space features a planed olive tree, to remind us of “Agnantio”, as the area of the square was called in the late 19th century. It is worth mentioning that tombs from the Mycenaean era were discovered in the square. There are many restaurants for those who worked up an appetite by climbing up to the square. Once you have taken in the views, you can relax and regroup in one of the cafés-bars to plan your next adventure.
