Description

The “skales of Philopimenos”, 172 wide stone steps built in 1901, honor the General who after the poisoning of Aratos by Philip the Great (213 BC) strengthened the Achaean Confederation.
The steps of Philopimenos connect the Lower with the Upper city of the Saint. Today, for the young people and not only of Aegio, they are the well-known “steps” for a quiet walk overlooking the Corinthian but also a place of social events and activities, as in recent years, they host many artistic moments of the city.
