Surely, Frederik loved this pace, in fact, despite his intense activity, he settled in Gravina at least on three occasions (1227, 1234, 1241) as witnessed in some documents. Of the old, rectangular building today there are only remains of the external walls and of the high parts of the four outer towers, probably of the Angevin period, three on the southern side, on the northern’s Inside, the foundations of partition walls show how the whole castle was divided: domestic locals on the ground floor, court residence on the higher one. Moreover, two wide parts still survive: a barrel vault cistern and a locale divided in two naves by solid pillars.

 

It is one kilometre far from the town.
