Cola Cola whistle

Description
Its shape recalls an iridescent bird, even if, clearly, it is a stylisation of a less colourful animal, the magpie, the cola cola, as they call it in the local dialect. Its colours, blue, yellow, red and green, therefore, have a deeper meaning: they are linked to the ancestral cult of Nature and its vitality, which is renewed with spring.
Three previously prepared clay spheres are used to make three conical masses which, in turn, are shaped and connected to form the magical object. It is then air-dried, coloured and then cooked in the fire.
Since 2005, a big Cola Cola has dominated the main entrance to the town, in honour of the Loglisci brothers, the master craftsmen who have always made these lovable whistles, and since 22 November of that year it has welcomed those entering the town from Bari.
You can visit the Laboratorio della Cola Cola, the old workshop of the Loglisci brothers, which is now used as a museum after their death
