Description
The route starts from the old town centre of Gravina. It runs along the bed of an ancient river that flowed here thousands of years ago, till reaching Botromagno archaeological park, passing through the double-arch bridge-aqueduct.
The history that you can breathe all along the way is embodied in the wonderful city of Sidin, which dates back to 1000 BC.
The archaeological area includes the mediaeval quarter of the city, carved out of the rock, which still offers a glimpse of the environment of the time, with its tank dug out of the tufa, its niches used for storage and lighting.
The exciting walk then moves to the natural area of Capotenda where, among lakes and the stream, it is possible to visit the ancient hypogeous saltpetre quarries and admire the Padre Eterno archaeological area.
