Description
This fair gives the opportunity to professionals from many sectors, such as agriculture, handcraft, food and wine, technology, to exhibit their products. The exhibitors, especially in recent years, come not only from Apulia and Basilicata, but also from other Italian regions.
It always takes place in the third week of April, for four days at the new fairgrounds in Via Spinazzola.
If you plan to visit the Fair, don’t miss the colourful opening and closing ceremonies organized by the Associazione Giovanni di Montfort: a parade through the city streets recalls the historical opening ceremony of the Fair under Charles II of Anjou and John of Montfort, with people wearing 13th century costumes from different social ranks. The Nobility, the local people, dancers, and jugglers perform each year with a different theme recreating the medieval modus vivendi.
